Music is a gift I have inherited from my parents. To me, art is a creative expression of human imagination, emotions, and skill—it presents ideas in both visual and auditory forms. Art is not limited to painting; it includes music, dance, writing, and even a way of living that brings peace to the soul. It shapes our thoughts and reflects society like a mirror.
My grandfather, Shri Vanshi Gopal Ji Shastri, was a renowned Jal Tarang artist of A-grade on Doordarshan. His performances were regularly broadcast on television, and he was a respected and well-known artist across Rajasthan. He also served as a lecturer in classical music (Samved Gayan) at the Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan. Watching him inspired my early inclination toward music, even when I was just 7–8 years old.
My mother is also a trained musician, holding a Sangeet Prabhakar degree from Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan, with excellence in Kathak dance and vocal music. My first inspiration came from watching her play the harmonium, which led me to develop a deep interest in music. I began learning by observing her and gradually picked up the harmonium myself.
